After thousands of tiny brushstrokes were laid down, the first pass of the foreground trees is complete! As the painting is completed the trees will be revisited for some final highlights and details.
At the encouragement from Scott, Dallas, Scott's father, applied paint to his original. This is the first time that one of Scott's 'models' has participated in the actual painting.
Scott uses the airbrush to soften the edges giving the seat its cushion appearance.
Now that the minute details on the bike are finished, Scott begins to work on the rest of the details needed, i.e. shoes, jeans, leather jacket, etc.

Scott puts the finishing touches on Roosevelt's head while keeping his reference close by for accuracy. The rest of the painting is covered by paper to prevent any stray paint droplets from falling on the finished areas below.

Scott even uses the long-lost art of finger painting to add an extra textural quality to the rocks.
